UG Program

The department of Structural Engineering is engaging structural engineering subjects in the civil engineering courses. The inter-disciplinary subjects taught by the department are Engineering Mechanics, Strength of Materials, structural Analysis I & II ,Concrete Technology, Design and drawing of Steel Structures, Theory of Reinforced and Pre-stressed concrete, Limit State Method for Reinforced Concrete Structures, Advanced Structural Analysis, Structural Dynamics, Earthquake Engineering, Design and drawing of RC structures, Mathematics subjects, Applied Physics, Applied Chemistry, Communication Skills, Presentation and Communication Techniques.

About Us

Structural Engineering Department is part of the college since its inception. Later on Mathematics and Communication Skills, Physics and Chemistry faculties are also attached to the Department. The department is growing continuously over the years. Besides high quality teaching at both UG and PG levels, the department is actively involved in material testing and consultancy works. Department has well equipped laboratories as per the curriculum needs. Department is also running value added training courses like STAAD-Pro, ETAB etc., so as to create better opportunities for the students in their campus placement. The department with its highly qualified and experienced faculty continues to maintain and cultivate its strong links with the industry and academic institutions within the country.

The department of Structural Engineering is running a two years M.E. Civil Course with structural engineering subjects aided by the AICTE since 1988. The present intake of PG students is 18.

Facilities in Laboratory (Under TEQIP)
  • Laboratories are used by students for their projects and meeting academic requirement for the Projects.

  • Material Testing and Concrete Technology Lab, Structural Dynamics Lab, NDT Lab, Departmental Computer Centre and Engineering Mechanics Lab have been modernised with latest equipments utilising TEQIP funds, which are very useful for academic and research works.

  • New NDT laboratory has been developed with state of art facility utilising TEQIP funds. With this laboratory, new methods of non destructive testing are being demonstrated to the students and it is also used to undertake consultancy projects.

  • Latest soft ware ETABS for analysis which is procured from TEQIP funds and is very much useful for PG students for their projects. This software is also extensively used for consultancy works like proof checking of buildings through which significant revenue is generated.

    The department generates significant revenue from Testing & Consultancy Works as given below. The equipments procured under TEQIP are also useful for Testing & Consultancy Works.
